Concussion services now available at more locations

Akron Children’s offers follow-up care for children who have suffered a concussion through two programs.

Our Sports Medicine Program specializes in patients and athletes needing clearance to return to play. The Brain Injury Program in our NeuroDevelopmental Science Center treats children of any age with serious or prolonged neurological symptoms from a concussion or non-accidental brain trauma.

Services in both programs include standardized testing for concussive symptoms and managing the gradual return to physical and mental activities.

With the expansion of our sports medicine services, we now offer more locations for athletes to receive the recommended assessments before returning to play, including locations on our Akron and Beeghly campuses, and specialty care offices in Hudson, Medina, North Canton and Warren.
